I have finally decided that I’m sick of not having cable/satellite TV, especially now that I have all kinds of free time on my hands. In the last few years the free TV shows have steadily gone down hill. It seems like, as the cable stations started to create more and more really good shows, the free stations decided they better aim for the audience that isn’t smart enough to know any better. And so we’re left with “reality” shows from hell, the unfunniest of stupid comedies, infomercials, and game shows.
Today I read an entry over at Please Pass the Popcorn written by Kizz in which she discusses a show that has been on HBO for five years. FIVE YEARS! I never even heard of the show and it’s been on for five years.
I’ve never gotten cable because I don’t like the idea of paying for TV and because I have a problem going to bed and always figured if I had anything other than infomercials to watch I might never get to bed. But now that this switch from analog to digital is screwing us, and free TV is hitting rock bottom, I might have to reconsider.
Oh and a lot of these are available for free online if you have the expertise.

Or you can just get a subscription to Netflix or Blockbuster or something and watch them all on DVD. Cheaper and you don’t have to wait to see the next ep.
